Just had car back from repairers; nearside headlamp was replaced by a new Valeo unit at cost of £290 f@#! - this is basically an empty shell containing the reflectors. I noticed that the back of the main lamp was slightly different from the original
After the internals from old: levelling motor and HID pack were transferred. When came to test the dipped beam is not focused its like a fuzzy cloud pattern with a splodge in the middle. Whereas the drivers side is nice and evenly focused.
I swapped the Xenon bulbs over and the pattern is still unfocused in the new unit. To me it seems that the reflector is wrong!
Have Audi changed the design of beam pattern focus to make it softer?
I heard that the cheap units on ebay have wrong reflectors but this unit was purchased from TPS and has Valeo part sticker on it.
