Can anyone help?

I recently replaced my ribbed belt and tensioner, due to the old belt shredding on the inner portion. I suspected that this was due to wear in the tensioner hence I replaced that too. Today I noticed that the new belt is going the same way after only 1 month.Disappointing!

I have noticed that there is approx 5 mm of end float on the hyd pump shaft, is this normal or is this the likely cause?

Would appreciate any info to hopefully avoid a hefty garage bill.

Thanks in advance
