ISOFIX bracket for 2002 A6 Avant

I'm trying to work out how to fit 8D0-813-545 brackets to my 2002 A6 Avant, I have the seat base lifted, but there doesn't seem to be anything pre-drilled to bolt the bracket to.

Has anybody successfully fitted these brackets to an Avant?

The bracket can be seen here, 8B on the diagram.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(also some hints on how to properly remove the seat base, there seems to be some heavy wire brackets still holding the front of the seat in place...)

Thanks,

Simon.

Have never fitted one myself but I think you will find that parts 8 , 8a and 8b all bolt in the same place . Using 8a or 8b depends on whether you have the fold down arm rest or not !

This indicates to me that that bracket goes across the middle of the back seat and uses the mounting holes for the seat belt latches , ie remove the seat belt latches , lay the bracket over the holes and then bolt the latches back in place therefore clamping the bracket between the latches and the car body .

In the schematic you can see part 8 in this position . 8a and 8b would only be alternatives to part 8 therefore bolting in the same position and working on that theory you will also need the bolts marked 9a which appear to be longer than bolts marked 9 which they would replace when fitting said bar .

Hope you can understand this and it helps

Regards
Todd

Thanks Todd, after reading your post I went and had another look, the bracket I have didn't fit between the seat belt latches, but from that angle I was able to spot the pre-drilled holes for the bracket in both the driver & passenger side rear seat, the holes were covered in tape as mentioned elsewhere.

I managed to wedge up the seat, still haven't worked out how to remove it properly, and by releasing the folding back seat, was able to get the torx head bolts in to the threads, then a ratchet with an extension bar enabled by to tighten them properly, phew! Possibly the most awkward & fiddly thing I've done on this car so far!

The local Audi dealer, Issac Agnews, told my wife that thety couldn't be fitted, after I had bought them from them, sounds like the parts guys she was talking to didn't know what he was talking about or was lazy.

Thanks,

Simon
