Whell and tyre sizing on a budget
I have recently aquired a lovely 20 year old golf tour, 1.8. Only problem is the wheels are shot. It has 13" alloys on it, I know it should have steels on it but not sure which sizes will fit. Can anyone help please? I may buy some alloys again, if they are a cheaper option. What is the maximum wheel and tyre size that will fit please? Cheers

IMHO the typical cheap upgrade would be to fit 14"x6" steelies, they are easy to find in any junkyard, there are also some OEM ronal alloys in that size.
You can fit as well the 15" steelies found in GT passats and some Corrados, or the BBS alloys: RA, RJ, RM or RS models (15"x7").
Tyre sizes? OEM 185/60R14, 195/50R15.

Hi,
I have 6 off 13" Mk1 Golf GTI alloys. 4 have been refurbished and are mint. 1 is painted black in good condition and the 6th is silver in average / good condition. They have tyres but are all flat and in really naff condition, i.e. I wouldn't use them.
Let me know if you are interested. email t.hoyland@yahoo.co.uk
We can then sort out a price and delivery/collection.
Cheers
Tim.
