1997 Audi A8 Crankcase hose
Dealer says the crankcase hose is split (he said this was a PVC-like device) and costs $540 to replace the "unit". Can I just replace the hose? Any advice? tbmcsdave@hotmail.com

I'm sorry which crankcase hose? Is it the breather hose? Where does this hose enter and where does it go?

If its the hose that goes across the front at the top of the engine linking the two sides of the engine then a piece of straight hose will do (make sure its oil resistant).
If its the one from the back of the left side bank (looking from the drivers seat) then yes, a straight piece of hose will do the job again.
